Meri Anne Beck-Woods

Chairman and Chief Operating Officer

Meri Anne is Odyssey’s Chairman and Chief Operating Officer. She is responsible for managing the fixed income portion of Odyssey’s balanced portfolios as well as the individual fixed income portfolios. These portfolios include both taxable and tax-exempt bonds. She has over 35 years of experience in the investment industry including balanced and fixed income portfolio management.

Prior to co-founding Odyssey Advisors, Meri Anne spent 14 years with Loomis Sayles & Co., L.P. as a Senior Partner and Senior Portfolio Manager. While there, she managed $2 billion in fixed income portfolios and balanced mutual funds. Prior to that, she managed $1 billion in fixed income and fixed income mutual funds as a Senior Portfolio Manager and Fixed Income Strategist for TSA Capital Management. Following college, Meri Anne was a Portfolio Manager and Research Analyst for Norton Simon’s $500 million in fixed income and equity assets.

Meri Anne is a member of the the CFA Institute and CFA Society of Los Angeles, and was a contributing author for CFA® Magazine. She is a past President of the Los Angeles Association of Investment Women. A lifetime member of the Network for Empowering Women Entrepreneurs, Meri Anne is co-author of the book Inspiration to Realization. She served as board CFO for 4 out of her 14 years on the board of directors of the non-profit children’s family organization “Para Los Ninos.” She is also a Management Partner and active with Pepperdine University's Alumni & Career Resources, and has served as an adjunct professor of finance in the MBA program and as a guest speaker for their Finance Panel. Meri Anne also served as Honorary Co-Chairman of the Business Advisory Panel in 2003 and 2004.

A native of California, Meri Anne earned an M.B.A. degree in Finance, summa cum laude, from the George L. Graziadio School of Business and Management, Pepperdine University. She also earned a B.S./B.A. degree in Business & Finance with honors from the University of Redlands.
